About the circuit

The Portuguese Grand Prix returns to the Formula 1 calendar at the spectacular Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, also known as the Portimão Circuit. Located in the beautiful Algarve region of southern Portugal, this modern race track is famous for its dramatic elevation changes, flowing corners and rollercoaster-like layout.

The circuit opened in 2008 and quickly built a strong reputation among drivers and fans. With a length of 4.653 kilometres and 16 corners, Portimão offers a challenging combination of high-speed sections, blind crests and technical braking zones. The constant changes in gradient make every lap exciting, both for the drivers on track and for guests watching from the grandstands or hospitality areas.

Formula 1 previously raced at Portimão in 2020 and 2021, delivering memorable moments and spectacular racing. Now, with the Portuguese Grand Prix returning to the calendar, the Algarve once again becomes one of the most attractive Formula 1 destinations in Europe.

Beyond the circuit, Portugal offers the perfect setting for a premium Grand Prix weekend. The Algarve is known for its coastline, luxury resorts, excellent restaurants, golf courses and relaxed atmosphere. This makes the Portuguese Grand Prix an ideal destination for corporate incentives, client hospitality, team rewards and unforgettable Formula 1 travel experiences.
